Okay that's kinda hard to answer because We African Americans have some many different types of hair. I would just say use a leave in conditioner, and after that make sure that you wash the salt water from the beach and the sand out of your hair really good, also make sure to grease your scalp with a light oil (I use a grease called Softee with Indian Hemp its really light and make my hair feel really nice, It is sold at Walgreen's and really cheap)

Just add moisture to your hair. Hair oil, Oil Sheen. Shampoo and Conditoner that made for dry hair will add extra moisture to your hair.
