I have natural, untreated hair; can you tell me how to straighten my hair without the aid of harsh c

You have to use straightening irons. (DON'T USE THE CLOTHES IRONS - big mistake) if you have long thick hair then use the irons with large plates, if you have thin, short hair use the small plates. GHD straighteners are the best but remember invest in some good ones otherwise they don't do the job well - believe me i should know!

Pureology products. (shampoo, conditioner, etc) Found at salons. I use it and it's great. You have to blow dry your hair after using it to get it straight.

You can press it with a hot comb or straighten it with a flat iron.

Flat irons are wonderful! They straighten and smooth your hair. Especially great if your hair has a little frizz in it. They range in price. I recommend one from a salon, they get hotter and have porcelain plates.

The Chi Iron is the best iron on the market (other than the infrared one that seems to be just a myth). The Chi Iron has ceramic plates that heat up evenly and it uses ions which make straightening your hair less damaging. They range from 89-130 dollars depending on where you buy them. My advice is buy them from a salon, not Ulta or HEB or anywhere else that doesn't have a salon license. Most all professional products are not guaranteed if they are not purchased from a licensed salon. (yes this includes paul mitchell, redken, and all other shampoos that you think are better from the grocery store because they are cheaper)
