My hair right now is tinted with red. It's just a box color that I put over my dark hair, thinking it would go the color on the box.

I use Manic Panic's bleach, and their semi-permanent dye (which comes in an ARRAY of colors, any color you want) and with black, (I typically just do chunks or my bangs) the flamingo pink has looked the best. It lasts for a relatively long time, and I've actually never had any wash out until recently (our water in our new town is much harder, and washed most of it out).

try using keilidocolors bleach and punky colors for the wild color rinse with cold water and vinegar it will keep the color longer it also helps to use a color shampoo and conditioner and for a wild look you should do all the tips of your hair in hot pink that will look great with the black hair or even a light or dark purple from a cosmetologist

Hmmm...African Americans use a product called BW from Clairol that works well. But I'd really recommend not bleaching your hair b/c it fries your hair making it look it crispy and damaged. No one's hair is immune to the negative effects of bleaching. Just buy a wig: it's easier, safer, there's more variety.
