Unless you wan't orange-looking hair I'd recomend going to a beauty supply store and getting the stuff the pros use-all the drugstore stuff doesn't have strong enough peroxide. If your hair is very dark you'd probably want to use 40 volume peroxide mixed with bleach powder. And if it still looks brassy you can get rid of that with an ash toner. Be careful...bleaching is very damaging to your hair!

Go to Sally's Beauty supply. They've got the best hair bleach kits. They've got this one kit (can't remember what it's called) but it turns hair more yellow rather than un-natural looking orange. Plus everything is pretty much $7.95.

If your hair has ANY shades of red in it, go to a professional, otherwise you are going to end up with a big mess. Otherwise, if you're brave you might want to try majiblode; it's very good product but you usually have to have a license. Sally's will not sell it; honestly, most of the stuff they sell is pure crap. Find a beauty supply store that cosmetologists actually use in your area (they might order bobby pins from Sally, but not much else if they are any good) and go there! Best of luck.
