You might want to try some leave in conditioner with a natural moisturizer.

1. wash your hair

2. deep condition it (leave in at least 2 minutes)

3. comb through with large toothed comb while conditioner is still in

4. rinse with cool water to seal conditioner onto hair

5. add mixture of moisturizer and leave in conditioner while hair is wet

6. comb through with wide tooth comb or fingers

7. squeeze and scrunch your curls up toward your head to make sure you spread the mixture well, and to get out excess water

8. finger or wide tooth comb through

9. re-scrunch towards head to style

why would you use gel? that'll harden your hair up and it'll break off. there's plenty of other curling products out there like mousse!

If you insist on using gel, just don't use too much.

Take a small amount in your palms, and work it through your hair. I generally watch roots and tips first.
