Natural method of colouring my hair?!?
My grandmother uses Henna. It is a plant and it has powerful dying properties.
If you wanted your hair to be weird colors, I have used kool-aid to dye my hair green, red, purple, or blue

In India there is a plant whose leaves if you grind to a paste and apply on your fingers , toes etc it will become red. Many women use it for co louring their grey hair to red. It is called mehandi.

Most of the "natural" methods are only temporary. If your hair is light and you want it to look darker you could pour a mix of very strong cool coffee in your hair and let it dry, but down side your hair will smell like coffee, if you rinse it you will lose most of the effect. The result is the same with the fruit juice methods which will also be sticky as well. Some people to lighten hair have put lemon juice on their hair and spent an hour or two in the sun. Don't do this EVER! While it will work, if you put any chemical to color or lighten you hair on after you have done this, even months after it will literally melt your hair. I would recommend using any level 1 color that washes out in a few shampoos, this is your best bet for getting the color you want without damaging you hair. Also, don't use henna bad bad bad...it will do the same thing as the lemon juice....I know this because my mother was a cosmetologist and hair stylist. If you love your hair don't follow any of the advice above.

* Take 100 gms of curd. Add about 1 gm of black pepper to it. Mix it well and apply it evenly on the hair and scalp. Keep it for an hour and then wash with warm water and mild shampoo. Do this treatment once a week to see the remarkable difference in the texture and color of your hair . Your hair will become silkier and regular use will also make the hair dandruff-free. Curd helps in curing dandruff and making the hair softer while black pepper helps make the hair black. So one recipe gives 3 benefits - a) dandruff-free hair b) soft and silky hair and c) black hair. Doing this once a week helps in maintaining the hair color and delaying greying to a great extent. This recipe should be avoided by people who have a tendency to catch frequent colds and coughs.
How to Dye Your Hair Dark With Natural Ingredients
Dying your hair with natural ingredients is safer and more fun than using hair dyes, and you get to experiment more. You can fine tune your ingredients to get a custom color all your own. All ingredients are optional, adjust the quantities to your liking.
Steps [edit]Take natural henna, and mix with lemon juice or other acidic liquid, and let sit for at least 6 hours, or until you see dye release in the henna. The henna should be the thickness of cheap conditioner, but thinner than henna for body art. Try half lemon juice/half water to keep the mixture from drying your hair. Henna is brownish-red.
Add a handful of a natural herb called amla, which is powdered indian gooseberry. It adds cool tones and enhances curl. Amla is brown, but adds only slight color.
Add walnut powder, checking to make sure you aren't allergic first. Walnut powder will add dark brown tones.
Add indigo. Indigo is black, added to henna is will make many shades of brown.
Grab the henna, add in your other ingredients, and leave on your hair for 4 hours or more. If you can make it to 10 hours, your hair will have soak up the maximum amount of dye.
Use the other ingredients without henna, and you only need to leave them on for an hour. Create a base of conditioner and egg whites if you don't want to use alot of the plant products.
Tips: Tell some one else to apply it to your hair.
Cover everything before starting
Use a cheap conditioner to help wash out the dye. Smother your head in it and work it in like shampoo. Repeat until the water is clear.
Amla makes a great face scrub! Mix a handful with enough water to make a paste and wait 5 minutes. Scrub your face and rinse. Your skin will feel tighter and smoother.
Warnings :Cover your head with a shower cap, if the mixture dries completely, it won't be good for your hair, and be harder to wash out.
Don't use premixes unless you exactly what is in them. Many "natural" hair dyes contain PPD or other chemicals.
Henna is only brownish-red, so if you see black or colorless henna, it is either another plant all together, or contains chemicals.
Things You'll Need Henna :
Amla (Indian Gooseberry)
Black walnut powder
Indigo

%26gt;What color were you wanting? If you like reds, browns, or blacks, you might consider henna. If you just want it lighter, honey, lemon, and chammomile tea will all work. if you go to hennaforhair.com on the mixes page you can see pictures of different colors of hair people have gotten from adding various natural ingredients to their henna powder. But please, if you do decide to henna, only use body quality henna from a trusted supplier like Mehandi.com. Most hennas for hair that you find in stores are compound hennas; meaning they contain metal salts and PPD and other various harmful ingredients that will destroy your hair or worse. 100% pure body quality henna is very good for your hair though. Good luck:)
