it will not take the color because of the henna. you're just going to have to let it grow out, and don't use henna ever again! it is not good for your hair!

If your color your hair over henna, you will get a very weird funky hair. I suggest you grow it all out and then cut the henna out because you're going to be dissapointed when you color over your henna

The colour shouldn't be as intense right now so if your hair isn't too dark now,so it is possible that the new dye will take. Normally you're advised to just let the henna grow out or to cut it. If you use citrussy shampoos (LUSH do some), they can help strip the henna out but it still will be very gradual as henna is a permanent dye. If you're going to use a chemical dye, I would advise you do a hair strand test first.Take some hair from your brush and test it with the colour you want to use and see what happens. You wouldn't want to get some horrible results as henna can react with metallic components of some dyes and cause weird reactions. If you want to bleach your hair for a lighter colour, it is possible but a reaction again can occur because of the henna and it will be very difficult to strip the henna from the hair so do a strand test/harvest test beforehand. If you want to stay natural you can try some vegetable based dyes available or use another henna colour to dye the hair. LUSH do henna's in black, red, reddish brown/chestnutty and brown, so you could try those. Hope that helps.

you can colour your hair but it wont take as well on the henna part, it will be stronger on the roots, your best bet is to go to a salon and ask then to dye the henna part to ask close to your natural colour as possible, then it can grow out.

of course you can.

Henna and perms can be a prob, but colour on henna - should be np problem.

but if I was you, I would rather take another henna colour than some artificial one.

henna does less damage to the hair, and its particles are even embedded into the hair's keratine, so thin hair gets a little bit thicker. furthermore, henna feeds hair.

chemistry does not.

If you used pure 100% natural henna powder with no additives or chemicals of any kind it will be fine.

No hair damage.

If you want to harvest your hair from your hairbrush to test with that will help you make up your mind.

As long as you used 100% pure and natural henna powder you shouldn't have any problems with dyeing your hair again. Usually this type of henna powder is called body art quality but is mostly found online.

So you are bored with the reddish tones, what color do you want to achieve now? Message me and hope this helps.

I have been doing natural hair care for 10 yrs.
