Can a person with natural brown hair but dyed dark brown hair use garnier nutrisse nutribrowns hair

im not sure what garnier nutrisse nutribrowns hair dye is, but if its a light brown hair die, it won't show over the dark hair. I tried dying my hair a dark blonde, when i naturally have dark brown hair, but i didn't realize i needed to bleach it first to get the lighter color to show.
